The tourism development project in Anmyondo, Taeangun, Chungnam is making progress and has set the goal to construct a global scale marine tourism complex.
On December 5, according to Chungnamdo, Emerson Pacific signed an MOU with the Yonsei Medical Center and Young Hoon Elementary School to establish a medical facility and an educational facility on the development project site in Anmyondo.
Emerson Pacific is the representative company of the Interpacific Consortium, which was the priority negotiation partner for the development of the Anmyondo tourism complex. The Consortium consists of Emerson Pacific (investment ratio of 60%), Python Capital Advisors (30%) and Kookmin Bank (10%).
According to the signing of the MOU, the Yonsei Medical Center will build a high-class medical facility in the Anmyondo tourism complex so that high-class medical services can be provided to tourists as well as the local community.
The president of Yonsei Medical Center, Chul Lee, promised, “We will provide our full support so that everything will run smoothly in the establishment of the medical facility in the Anmyondo tourism complex.”
Also, Emerson Pacific acquired the human resources and operational know-how to establish an educational facility in the Anmyondo tourism complex by signing an MOU with Young Hoon Elementary School, which is famous for immersion English education by holding classes in both Korean and English for most of its curriculum.
Through cooperation with Young Hoon Elementary School, the educational academy will become a key facility in revitalizing tourism in Anmyondo by allowing tourists to relax while also providing education for their children.
The CEO of Emerson Pacific, Man Kyu Lee, said, “The hospital and educational facility will be the key facilities that differentiate the Anmyondo tourism complex from other sites while, at the same time, being essential for improving the welfare of residents in Anmyondo. Therefore, they will be implemented as major projects.”
The Anmyondo tourism complex project is a large project to develop a global scale tourist site in the Seungon, Jungjang and Sinyari areas of Anmyon-eup, Taeangun. With a size of 3.815 million ㎡, this complex calls for the investment of a total of 1.5 trillion won, including foreign investment of 333.4 billion won, from 2012 to 2021.
After being designated as a tourist spot in 1991, it had to be postponed due to the failure to attract foreign investment on four separate occasions.
Interpacific, which signed an MOU with Chungnamdo in 2009, will hold an explanatory meeting for the residents of Anmyondo in order to listen to their opinions, while construction will start in early 2013.
Meanwhile, Interpacific came up with the master plan for the recent project in line with contemporary tourism trends that emphasize relaxing comfortably in a leisure facility while taking care of one’s health instead of playing in an artificial and large facility.
According to the master plan, the natural environment of Anmyondo will be preserved as much as possible, including pine tree forests, long coastlines and coastal dunes, to become a high-class leisure site that focuses on humans and nature.
Also, it will be an environmentally-friendly, luxurious leisure site with a six star hotel and a Japanese hot spring pool. The buildings will be single houses with few stories and the building coverage ratio will be limited to 10%.
