4MINUTE is a girl group with endless charm and versatility. One second, they come across as adorable girlfriends playfully nagging their boyfriends and the next; they transform into sexy ladies seductively blowing kisses at the club! Their addictively intense songs combined with their arresting stage presence makes for an energy-filled performance that captivates the audience. 4MINUTE gained popularity worldwide only a short time after their debut and in 2010, the group even earned the top spot on the album chart of the biggest online music website in Taiwan and became number one on Hong Kong’s airplay chart. The group recorded a duet with American artist Amerie and collaborated with the Japanese R&B star Thelma Aoyama. The group’s first solo concert in Japan was sold out almost instantaneously.

The name ‘4MINUTE’ has two meanings: the first being that each member of the group will be able to capture the audience with her unique charm in just 4 minutes and the second one is that each members will live in the moment and do her best for that moment (‘for a minute’). The group is comprised of 5 members: Kim Hyuna, Nam Jihyun, Heo Gayoon, Jeon Jiyoon, and Kwon Sohyun. Ever since the release of the first digital single ‘Hot Issue’ in 2009, the group has had numerous hit songs such as ‘Muzik,’ ‘I My Me Mine,’ ‘Heart To Heart,’ and ‘Mirror Mirror.’

At the center of 4MINUTE’s striking performance is Kim Hyuna, who commands the stage with her cute, yet sexy movements. In 2010, her popularity skyrocketed with the release of her solo digital single ‘Change.’ Hyuna has also appeared in the KBS variety show ‘Invincible Youth’ (2009-2010), and is beloved by fans for her fresh and genuine personality that becomes obvious once she steps off stage. In 2011, she fully displayed her passion for dancing when she starred in the MBC dance survival program ‘Dancing with the Stars.’

4MINUTE’s group leader, Nam Jihyun, has many male fans who adore her for her innocent face and voluptuous figure. Her fluid dance movements (thanks largely to ballet studies she started as a child) combined with her long arms and legs make her stand out on the stage. Jihyun has also received recognition for her potential as an actress following her appearance in the SBS drama ‘It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl’ (2010).

4MINUTE’s highly addictive songs are brought to life by Heo Gayoon’s sensual vocals. Gayoon has both outstanding singing and dancing skills, not to mention a great sense of style. In 2010, she was featured in ‘Bad Guy Good Girl,’ a song by the Korean male duo Sunny Side, and was also involved in the production of the OST of the MBC drama ‘The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry,’ as well as the G20 campaign song ‘Let’s Go.’

Jeon Jiyoon’s black sunglasses and low voice have become her signature trademark. She fills the stage with her unique charisma, and plays an essential role in strengthening 4MINUTE’s music. In 2011, she once again proved her singing abilities in the KBS show ‘Immortal Music 2’ where she competed with vocalists of other idol groups.

Kwon Sohyun has undergone vocal training ever since she was in elementary school. Her debut with 4MINUTE not only realized her longtime dreams of becoming a singer, but also allowed her to display the talents she had cultivated for years. Although she is still young, the cute, childish image is gone once she steps onstage.
