| * Counterfeit, forged, or imitation coins, currency,
bank notes, debentures, and other securities. |

| * Weapons (including replicas and decorative ones) such

| - Those who intend to import guns and munitions must
obtain prior approval from the Commissioner General of
National Police Agency for every trip. |
|
| * Narcotics, including opium and cocaine; psychotropic
agents; and hemp and related products. |
|
| * Endangered wildlife, wildlife protected under CITES,
and products made from protected wildlife. |
|
- Animal-based traditional medicine, including bear
gall bladders and musk.
- Plant-based traditional medicine, including scabwort,
cibotii rhizome, and gastrodia elata blume. |

| * Means of payment (promissory notes, bills of exchange,
and L/Cs not included), domestic currency (Korean won)
and won-denominated travelers checks in amounts in excess
of US$ 10,000. |

| * Cashiers checks, overdraft checks, postal money orders,
etc. |

| * Jewelry (gold rings or necklaces used daily not included)
and securities. |
|
| * Cultural properties. |
|
| * Goods subject to the Fishery Act and rules on migration
and approval of marine animals and plants. |

- Goods that may threaten quality of marine resources

- Goods designated as natural assets.
- Specialties or rare goods from Korea. |

| * Goods and materials subject to laws on the movement
and treatment of wastes between countries. |
|
| * Plants, fruits & vegetables and agricultural &
forestry products. |
|
| Items Prohibited Onboard |
|
| For the safety of aircraft operation and passengers,
some items are prohibited from being taken into the cabin
by passengers. If you attempt to carry any of the prohibited
items onboard, the items will be confiscated and you may
face criminal prosecution if criminal intent is suspected. |
|
| Prohibited
items for carry-on: Sharp or dangerous objects |
|
| Sharp objects such as nail clippers, Swiss-army knives,
scissors, and stationery knives are all prohibited from
the cabin. You need to pack these in your check-in baggage. |
|
| Liquids,
gels, and aerosols |
|
| As of March 1, 2007, restrictions
are imposed on the carry-on of liquids, gels,
and aerosols into the cabin on all international
flights (including transfer and |
|
|
| |
| Allowable amounts: less than 100ml
per container (One zipper lock plastic bag containing
less than 1 liter per passenger). |
|
Conditions for carry-on:
- Containers should be placed in a clear transparent 1-liter
zipper lock bag.
- The transparent zipper lock bag (size: ~ 20cm×20cm)
must be sealed.
- Carry-on is prohibited if the transparent zipper lock
bag is not completely sealed.
- Before security inspection, passengers must separate
these bags from other baggage and present them to the
inspectors. |

| Duty-free items |
|
| Liquids, gels, and aerosols, including alcohols and
cosmetics, purchased at airport duty free shops after
passing the security inspection or purchased at duty free
shops in the city and delivered at the airports duty
free pick-up counters are allowed under following conditions: |
|
- They are packed in tamper-evident bags.
- The tamper-evident bags are unopened and undamaged until
the final destination.
- Receipts of the purchased duty-free items are properly
attached on or enclosed in the tamper-evident bag. In
such cases, there are no restrictions on volume.
Tamper-evident bags are provided by duty free shops
when items are purchased.
When traveling via another country, travelers are advised
to make themselves aware in advance of the rules on carry-on
items for transfer passengers in the other country as
they may be different. |

| Exceptions |
|
- When traveling with a baby, baby foods (e.g., baby
formulas, breast milk, and baby juice) intended to be
used during the flight.
- Medicine intended to be used during the flight.
These must be reported to inspectors in advance.
Proof of prescription is required for all prescription
medicines. |

| Animal Quarantine |
|
All live animals and animal products entering Korea
must be accompanied by valid
certificates issued by the exporting country's government.
Declare all import animals and
animal products upon arrival to the National Veterinary
Research and Quarantine Service,
where they must be inspected. Cloven-hoofed animals and
their products that are shipped from import-restricted
areas will be sent back or destroyed.

| Plant quarantine |
|
| Passengers who carry any plants or soil including fruits
(mango, orange, papaya, etc.), vegetables, seeds, orchids,
nursery stock or cut flowers, etc., must describe the
items on the Customs Declaration Form and immediately
declare them upon arrival. |
|
Import restricted items and areas:
Fresh fruits, such as mango, orange, papaya, cherry, etc.:
all countries
Nursery stock of apple, grape, etc.: most European countries
Walnut fruit and kernel: most countries
Soil or plants with soil: all countries |
