The 2012 Korea Food and Tourism Expo will take place from April 12th to 15th at aT Center, located in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.
Marking its 13th anniversary this year, the Korea Food and Tourism Expo is an annual event to promote the savory tastes of Korean food and genuine Korean culture. The expo consists of culinary contests and a wide range of exhibitions and experience programs pertaining to Korean food. The most anticipated event this year is the Korean International Culinary Contest, where around 1,800 cooks from 5 different countries will pit their superb cooking skills and recipes against each other.
There are also some group cooking contests where the audience gets to participate. Participants taste and judge the dishes to declare the winning chefs. The culinary contest will run throughout the festival period at Hall 1 and 2 of the aT Center.
The Expo will also include a Korean traditional food showroom and hands-on experience programs such as trying on hanbok (Korean traditional costume), and learning Korea traditional tea etiquette.
